The Bible on political arguments...

Today I found a new hope in my small group. I consider myself a pretty prideful person and I always want to get in arguments with people that I disagree with. With the upcoming election, I have tried strongly to hold back from even voicing my opinion so as to not get in any arguments with people that are my friends. Many people at Flagler College are uberconservative, and though I am registered Democrat, I view myself as more of a moderate person. There are parts on both sides that I agree with and parts that I disagree with. Well, some of these uberconservative people, are also very outspoken, and they also happen to be in my small group. I don't think any of them even know that I have a blog, so I am not worried about them reading this and I don't think that if they did they would be offended because I think that uberconservative to them would be a compliment. Any way, I have tried my hardest to abstain from any debating of which candidate is better that who or whatever and today in my small group, which I don't really consider a small group, there are at least 10 or 12 people there each week, we came across this chapter which dealt with arguing over politics. I think it is great.

Titus Chapter 3 Verse 1 - 10
Remind the people to be subject to rulers and authorities, to be obedient, to be ready to do whatever is good, to slander no one, to be peaceable and considerate, and to show true humility toward all men.
At one time we too were foolish, disobedient, deceived and enslaved by all kinds of passions and pleasures. We lived in malice and envy, being hated and hating one another. But when the kindness and love of God our Savior appeared, he saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit, whom he poured out on us generously through Jesus Christ our Savior, so that, having been justified by his grace, we might become heirs having the hope of eternal life. This is a trustworthy saying. And I want you to stress these things, so that those who have trusted in God may be careful to devote themselves to doing what is good. These things are excellent and profitable for everyone.
But avoid foolish controversies and genealogies and arguments and quarrels about the law, because these are unprofitable and useless. Warn a divisive person once, and then warn him a second time. After that, have nothing to do with him. You may be sure that such a man is warped and sinful; he is self-condemned.

Full Sleeve

I had a dream last night that I had a full sleeve tattoo. It was awesome. Accept it was inspired by a band that the tattoo artist loved and that I had never heard of. I think their name was Nostradamus. Sounds like a hard core band. It was yellow and blue and red. and there was like cubist style octopus and all of these shapes. It was gonna cost me 500 dollars but all i had was 20 bucks in my pocket and the guy was like "you are gonna have to come in here 2 dozen times to get this finished" i thought it was a lot but i didn't care. and all i owed him for that time was 20 bucks. pretty convenient. i am listening to ninja guns new album 'Restless Rubes'. it is pretty good. they are a very decent band. Also I can't sleep. It is 3:15 am. I have class at 8. I hate what coffee does to me... i can never go to sleep if i have coffee after dinner.

My birthday is in a week.

Keeping tracks

I have started keeping track of stuff. Like weird stuff. I think it is a good thing, but we'll see. Like I am keeping track of how long I can go with out touching the street with my feet (I ride my bike everywhere so it can be difficult sometimes). I am also keep track of how much my friend spends on stuff, because he buys a lot of stuff on the internet and ebay and craigslist so me and my other friend decided we would have a competition to see who could get him to buy the most things. I guess that game is kind of wrong in a way, but it is really hilarious. also I have started to keep track of how much money I am getting paid for making the takers album cover/ tshirts. Right now it is at a ten dollar whisky & co. tshirt that I got for free tonight at cafe 11 because I was buying the tshirt and i told the two guys who are in whiskey & co. and also in the takers that i made their album art and they were like awesome, take a tshirt for free. That sum will probably add up with in the next two weeks though because I am going to be selling tshirts for 10 dollars. And I keep all the money that they are bought with so if you want a sweet takers shirt, talk to me and you can buy one for 10 dollars so i can at least break even because i am paying 200 dollars to get them made.

also you should check out Andy Goldsworthy. I think he is my favorite 3d artist ever.

also if i still want a wolf tattoo or a harry potter tattoo in a year from today i vow to get one or the other.

THAT IS A PROMISE.

summer activities and bands

If I haven't told you yet, I am planning on going to Austria this summer for study abroad. The program is through the university of New Orleans and it is in Innsbruck. It is going to be pretty fun. Rachel is coming too. I hope it all works out. Also this summer my friend nick and i are going to hike the John Muir Trail in its entirety, so if you have any advice or anything that would be great. Also I plan on borrowing things from people, but probably not a lot.
Also there is this band called 'electric president' that I have loved since I was a junior in high school. I think they are really amazing but I don't think i have ever met someone who knew them or had heard of them from anywhere else but me. Let me see if I can get a copy of one of their songs up here:
ok this is the opening song on their self-titled album.
it is called 'good morning, hypocrite'

I don't have their newest album but you should really download their first one. It is so good. The lyrics in it are spectacular.

a couple seconds with bagel crisps and hummus

so here's the deal,
i don't know why i am even doing this right now because i am so tired and i can't think straight and i haven't stopped working in forever it seems like, but this the first chance i have had to just sit down and write since about a week ago. I have been working on a few things for school that have been very time consuming. i haven't even had time to be a good boy friend and listen to what Rachel has to say. and when i have the time it is usually 2am. just like it is right now.
i have been pretty much constantly working since the weekend. i have taken breaks for food and i took about a 3 hour break with nick the other day just to hang out and chill down. i spent pretty much all week working on a project that didn't really turn out too well. it is ok, but not amazing, i guess. it is a black and white copy of this painting.

it looks ok in black and white but it is just kinda hard to look at because there is so much going on. i think when i copy it in color which is gonna be a bitch too but not as bad, i am gonna make it a lot bigger, right now it is just 24" x 29.25" and i think i am gonna make it like 3 feet tall or taller maybe. i don't know. it will take a lot longer but it will look a lot better. I get to see Rachel in about 12 hours but i have class in less than 6 so goodnight.

She is the love of my life
